SHARON WYATT

A SEXPOT WITH SAVVY

1982

Sharon's determination and her won't-take-no-for-an-answer attitude helped her break into television, and into the GH role of Tiffany.

Bright, assertive and supremely self-confident these attributes apply as much to Sharon Wyatt as they do to her GH persona, Tiffany Hill. Once a teacher back in Tennessee, it didn't faze Sharon in the least to fly to L.A. with her life savings -only to find that they had been stolen in transit. There she was, a stranger in town without a penny. Luckily, her brother joined her on the coast, and the two of them "ate a lot of pinto beans" until Sharon managed to find a job at a bank.

Eventually she signed up for acting classes, found herself an agent, and proceeded to break into TV through sheer tenacity. Sharon says she's been "thrown out of offices, literally," because of her won't-take-no-for-an-answer attitude, but in the end it paid off, first with guest spots on various nighttime TV shows, and then the role of Tiffany on GH.

The strange thing is that Sharon's success came in the shape of a soap sexpot-while her ultra-religious family background almost kept her from becoming an actress in the first place. "Acting was just not very respectable," Sharon says, "but now my parents are very supportive".

Sharon herself makes no bones about enjoying every minute of portraying GH temptress Tiffany, especially when she's involved with handsome Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio on the show).

From the start Sharon reveals that there was a "nice chemistry between Tristan and me. I love our sex scenes, which really turn me on when I watch them at home," Sharon admits.

With the same lively sense of humor that Tiffany shows on GH, Sharon laughingly recalls the day when she had sex scenes with both Tristan Rogers and Thaao Penghlis: "Tiffany was in bed with Victor, and in the closet with Scorpio," she giggles.

The assertiveness with which Sharon has pursued her own career stands her in good stead when it comes to playing Tiffany: "As an actress, I go straight for the meat of the part," she says. "If they want a bitch, I play a hard bitch. I need a very strong male counterpart, because I am playing a strong woman."

But in spite of her strength, Sharon is extremely feminine, with her blonde good looks and charming Southern accent. In addition to her career, she wants marriage and lots of kids. "I definitely think I can do it all," she says-and we couldn't agree more.
